Nautical Themed Fourth of July Dinner Party

With the Fourth of July holiday not too far away, it is never too early to start planning the perfect patio or backyard summer dinner party. This is a great idea especially if you have family and friends visiting from out of town and you just want a nice dinner before the fireworks.

My idea was to incorporate the red, white, and blue without turning the table into a giant American flag design. Sitting at the drawing table and doing some thinking, I thought of what really represents this celebration, so what's more American than Ralph Lauren and his line of nautical looks. So I went with this nautical tablescape. It's cute and simple idea to duplicate and very stylish. To start off, I stopped at one of my favorite spots, Michaels. There, I picked up the white rope. There's an entire aisle dedicated to a beach-themed event. The rest was easy. I added flowers to a vase filled with blue water, Arbor Mist, gift bag, and for added touches message in a bottle sitting in a red star-shaped candle and voila!

Like I said, this design is easy to recreate and will surely impress your guests at your next patio Fourth of July dinner.

Let's dive in!

nautical themed party and table design
I used silver charger with red napkins. The white rope was used to tie the flatware together.

I tied the white rope around the vase that was filled with blue water and added a small bouquet of cream roses.

Arbor Mist on the table. Great taste.
grilled chicken for a family or bbq
Of course, having this beautiful table is nothing without some mouthwatering food. This is a beautifully done whole chicken cut in halves. You can grill it or baked in the oven. However you chose to do it, or whatever meat you choose to go with, make sure to have enough for your guests. *hint* seasoning your meat like chicken and beef hours before you cook them, help ensure that the meat will be well seasoned through and through. Fish and seafood take less time, maybe an hour before.
basmatic white cooked white rice for family dinner
White rice of course. I only used Basmati rice. Better flavor and taste. They also have brown Basmati rice as a healthier alternative. If you're not a big rice fan, you can substitute with roasted or grilled veggies, potato salad, green salad, cornbread, or anything. I'm a strong believer of eating what taste good without sacrificing your health. Anything homemade is always a great start.
triangle slices of watermelons for bbq
Finish with slices of watermelons. The fruit of the summer season or any others will do.

And because I appreciate you guys, here is a simple desert in a jar recipe I found at theyummylife.com

You're welcome.

Hope you enjoyed this one!
