I (heart) Pink

pink heart, I love pink, eventsojudith
I have to admit, I did not grow up liking pink. I thought it was such a girly color, kiddish even. But as I got older the shade grew on me to become one of my favorite colors.
Let's go back a little. As you enter this world as a new born baby colors are already assigned to you. Blue for boys, pink for girls. So naturally growing up everything I got was tinted pink in some way. I have to confess,  I was a bit of a tomboy growing up. I was the girl climbing the trees, playing basketball, and running with the boys. The pink splash in the middle of the neighborhood blues. Lucky and unlucky for me, I was treated as one of the boys, which means I have baseball games scars that reminds me of those fun days.

Yes, I had the long hair but always up in a ponytail,  (okay I still do that). Sure I threw on a skirt here and there, but nothing like a pair of Nike's and some shorts. My favorite colors were anything earth tones, which I still love. I had a closet filled with soft golds, browns, and tans. In fact had you told me, I would be loving pink some day, I would call you crazy.

Fast forward to present times, and I'm going to blame Pinterest and becoming a mother myself, my love for pink is on full blast. Shopping for new born clothes was so much fun. That often times I ended up in the girls section even though I was shopping for a boy. Everything was so pink and cute. Different shades of pink, different patterns all so cute. And there was the beginning of my obsession with pink.

Like I said I blame Pinterest too. In fact if you type the word pink in the search box, you'll see how many different types of things come in pink. How to decorate with pink. Cook with pink food coloring. Pink drinks and crafts. All there to inspire you. I had even dedicated my entire Pinterest to pink in the past.

Remember using pink doesn't mean having EVERYTHING pink. Splashes of pink works just as well.  Golds and pinks are great matches. Black and pink. Event blue and pink.
