Halloween Decoration | Glow in the dark eggs

glow in the dark eggs at eventsojudith Halloween is exactly forty-one days away. That means you have just over a month to start thinking about costumes, stocking up on loads of candy at inflated prices, and cheap scary decorations to impress your kids and if you're lucky enough to live in a friendly neighborhood where everyone knows each other, a group of little monsters and superheroes at your front door.

I can't help you with the costumes and candies but I have a great idea that will both impress and save you a few bucks for those $50 toddler Minion costumes, (I'm just anticipating lots of little yellow people with black frame goggles on this year). The cool thing is you only really need to buy one thing because the rest of the items are already in your kitchen. Three supplies and two steps away from creating a cool and easy party decoration. And as an added bonus, you can get the kids involve in making them.

What you will need:
  • Raw eggs
  • Distilled vinegar
  • LED lights

What to do:

In a large bowl, pour distilled vinegar over your eggs and let it soak for couple of days. The vinegar will dissolve the shell leaving a perfectly intact whole egg. The eggs will be squishy and bouncy, just don't bounce them too high unless you want egg over easy on top of your head. Once you have a few eggs done, in a another large bowl turn on your LED light, which you can buy at Michaels or your local craft store, place the eggs over the light for a cool glow in the dark effect. Perfect in a dark corner or as prop on the front porch.

When you're done with them, that is if the kids didn't use them on your neighbor's house, scramble with cheese and enjoy at breakfast as you go through the thousand of pictures you took the night before. By the way this would also be a great science project. Happy Halloween!
