Rustic Beach Wedding

This past Friday, I had the pleasure of working on this beautiful rustic beach wedding. By the way the bride looked absolutely stunning. She added lots of personal touches and details that made this all worth the mosquito bites. The nuptials took place on Key Biscayne in Miami and the weather couldn't have been any better. I couldn't help but to take a few videos and pics as I was driving down there. Don't worry, I was a passenger #safedriver here.
Wedding took place at sunset on the beach as the ocean sets the backdrop for the I-dos. The couple's idea to keep things simple and beautiful delivered the expected awes. Mixed beach shells and baby breath flowers with touches of white hydrangeas were perfect. I teamed up with another decorator and between the two of us (yes, you read that right) we worked fast to get the beach and reception area ready for the couple and their guests.

(Big shouts to Lulu for working with me).

One of the first things you noticed as you walked up was the navigation signs, which I loved. Again, simple yet effective. Perfect example on how keeping things simple, you get the max effect.

Remember I said the weather was great, well, it's still south Florida. In case any of the guests wanted some extra air, there were plenty of hand fans near by.

As you walked in, the welcoming sign table was to your left. The bride created this beautiful signing board. No need for expensive guests books. DIY is the name of the game.

We threw different size seashells around like confetti. The perfect small touch to each table.

To the right, the gift/cards table. The flower of choice, again baby breaths were perfect and with Lulu bringing plenty, we had more than enough to play with. Add touches of burlap and wood slabs brought out the rustic part of this theme.

The bride made these super cute "message sand in jar" favors for her guests, along with small thank-you bottles of bubbles.

We had the flowers in these tin-cans pails with mint green burlap wrap.

There's something about the scent of the ocean and that's the a bonus. Open windows allowed for fresh ocean air to fill the room.

The fun part, the centerpieces. Each round table were covered in white linens with a burlap runner. We used slab of woods as our centerpiece base and on each, a flower can, a LED candle, a bottle with twinkling lights inside and tucked behind a star seashell. The bride had a second smaller piece of wood engraved with their last names. Great little detail.

At each place setting, a white napkin draped over the table and held in place by a sand bottle with a program on top.

The couple wanted lights but nothing over the top. The room had two columns and they were wrapped with lights (which you can get from Walmart) and tucked with flowers.

Now we originally had a different sweetheart table setup, but we found out that the bride had this table and chairs stain painted which we LOVED! Actually, we ended up liking it more.

Chef Danny was in charge of keeping the couple and guests tummies full. While we're there doing our final walked through, he fired up the Paella pan and let me tell you, it smelled delicious.

I took this picture before they finished with the appetizers.

No details is too small. Remember those tin can filled with flowers, our water and drinks cooler matched that.

The pièce de résistance had to be this naked beach-themed cake and cake pops. They speaks for themselves. Another stain painted table with wood slabs and the couples initials in marquee letters.

A wooden bar was setup outside in the courtyard underneath hanging lights.

All in all a beautiful turned out. Everything from the beach venue, the intimate details, the lights and simple flowers all add up to create this memorable rustic theme wedding.

Special thanks:
Chef Danny
Lulu (and hubby who kept us entertained as he sung The Little Mermaid "Under the Sea Song.")

and of course,
